Yeah, I wondered how the 3 bladed ones would work in heavy brush. Make no mistake, the 80 tooth carbide one I bought worked great--it would cut through 2" saplings before I ever knew it, just sweeping side to side near the ground.

WebJun 14, 2009 · Like a chainsaw, usually touch up a blade when refueling the trimmer. I prefer redmax sst229 blades. They sharpen just like a standard 3/8 chainsaw chain and hold up very well.
